Flute Lessons
Do you...
...have difficulty producing a clear tone or tuning your instrument - especially in the low or high registers?
...struggle to master those fast passages, tricky rhythms, or vibrato?
...feel like you aren’t improving as much as you should be for how much you are practicing?
...keep hearing about "support," but aren't really sure what it is, or how to "use your diaphragm?"
...ever feel anxious, tense, or frustrated when you play or perform?
...feel lost when people talk about "the melody," chords, or music theory?
...want to nail your youth orchestra/band placement audition or win that big solo? Or maybe you want to audition for a collegiate music program, but you're not sure where to start?
...want to be part of a supportive community of flutists who encourage each other and celebrate each other’s musical achievements?

Welcome!
Our Lessons
I work with students of all ages and levels to achieve their musical goals, from cleaning up and solidifying fundamentals to preparing for major performances, auditions, and a career in music.
My students have won competitions and successfully auditioned for youth orchestras and music programs like Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra, Ruth Asawa School of the Arts and the California All-State Band.
Our first lesson together includes a ~10 minute consultation so we can discuss your goals and get to know each other.
Lessons include:
Monthly practice competition, with prizes!
Recitals in Fall and Spring
Musical Fieldtrips
Masterclasses with Jenna & guest artists
Audition prep
Music Theory & History
Ensemble and performance opportunities
Lesson length:
30 minutes - Beginners
45 minutes -Intermediate
60 minutes -Advanced
Words from a parent:
"My daughter took naturally to the flute and my biggest concern has always been whether or not she was being challenged enough. When we first started lessons with Jenna, I asked my daughter how her lessons were going and she said "Jenna's showing me new stuff." It was the first time I started to hear her struggle to make some notes come out. It's been a few years now and I can still hear my daughter having to focus while she practices. I can see her continuing to get better and build skills.
As a parent, I appreciate how Jenna tries to bring diversity and fresh musical influences to her lessons. I like that Jenna incorporates music history and looks for new ways for the kids to work and learn together.
